NEW RELEASE FROM
ELODIE PARKES
& A BONUS CHARACTER
INTERVIEW!

We’re unmasking Tom, the hero from, ‘Love Unmasked, At the Candy Apple,’ today. #MMromance with a twist of fun

Love Unmasked, At the Candy Apple: Elodie Parkes
Handsome Tom Wells sets lonely Scott Palmer’s heart racing as he watches Tom come and go from his apartment across the street. Scott longs to meet Tom, and when he scores a new job delivering goods for a local distributer, fate hands him the opportunity.
Tom works in a nightclub—the Candy Apple, and in the sultry environs, a masked stranger seduces Tom. The seeds of passion are sown, but just who has ignited Tom’s passion?
Scott’s longing to know Tom leads him to join the elite nightclub. On his first visit, the club holds a masquerade event.
Who is kissing who? Who’s under the black velvet mask?
An erotic MM romance, with a twist, and an HEA.

Hi Tom, welcome to the blog
Hi, thank you for inviting me to talk with you and your readers today.

Tell us a little bit about yourself
Well, I’m the bar manager at the Candy Apple. I also serve there. That’s fun, actually.

What’s the club like ... who goes there?
The club caters for a wide cross section of society and every so often, Charlie, the owner and my boss, holds special events. The story features an event.

How would you describe yourself?
You mean looks? Well—tall, dark hair, blue eyes. I like to work out. If you mean personality, I’m a happy person in general, tolerant, accepting...

What do you like in a man as a boyfriend? (He smiles.)
Huh, now I’ve met Scott I won’t be looking for anyone else, but he’s exactly what I do like. He’s around the same height as me, muscled, dark hair, a little longer than mine, gray eyes that are so sexy, and in fact, he’s completely sexy.

Since you’ve fallen into describing Scott, tell us about him
He’s great. He’s loving and caring. He’s clever and works hard. He loves music like me, and working out. He’s special. Scott will always work things out and talk about stuff. I love him.

What’s hot about the story?
Hell, just about every love scene and then there’s the twist. It’s our story, Scott’s and mine ... our journey to love, but even I didn’t see it coming. I guess deep down I wanted love and I didn’t know how much until a few things happened.

Okay let’s have some quick questions
Lights on or off? (Tom starts laughing.)
Either and both.

Jeans or a suit?
Of course that depends on where I’m going. I wear both, doesn’t everyone, but if you’re asking what’s my favorite, it’s jeans.

Vanilla or chocolate?
Can I say strawberry?

Boxers or briefs? (He grins)
I own both styles. Commando’s a favorite in summer.

Favorite color
Really? Er ... blue

Favorite music
Not even a chance of answering that because I love so many styles of music, wait not jazz. My dad used to listen to jazz, old stuff. I couldn’t like it.
Sum up being gay in a sentence. (He looks surprised)

Never been asked to do that before. Okay, here goes. I was born like it and I’m cool with it. Does that sound familiar?

He’s laughing now and I know he’s quoted the book, but then again it’s Scott’s and his love story so they’re probably his words in the first place...
Thank you for being here today, Tom.

Thank you for talking with me. It’s been a lot of fun. I was nervous about what you’d ask, but yeah, it’s been good.

Read a teaser, 18+, from Love Unmasked, At the Candy Apple

The club opened and filled to bursting within half an hour. Tom served and danced along behind the bar to the music. He chatted with customers and other servers. The bass thumped, people swayed and spun on the dance floor. Lights glinted on the sequined and glitter sprinkled masks. A man beckoned to him from the end of the bar and Tom went to get the order. The guy wore a half mask. The black velvet covered his cheekbones and his dark hair curled over the forehead giving him a rakish look.

“Vodka and you.” The man leaned forward to speak so that Tom could hear above the music.

A spike of excitement mingled with surprise. This was a new pick up line and from a guy too. Tom took in the width of the man’s shoulders and his muscled chest beneath the white dress shirt. A black tie hung unfastened around the unbuttoned collar of the shirt and the man held his jacket in one hand.
“Ice?” Tom asked and flashed his eyes at the customer. That look was one he used on guys at the gay bar he went to sporadically.

“Mmm—if I can take it from your lips.”

Heat traveled up from Tom’s balls to his stomach. His cock stirred and lifted. This was a definite proposition and against all his usual rules, desire to risk saying yes filled him.

“Coming up.” He turned to get the drink. His heartbeat quickened as he picked up an ice cube and fit it between his lips. It wasn’t straight from the freezer so it didn’t stick, but the cold sent a shiver over him as he brought the vodka to the customer.

He leaned over the bar counter. Tom expected the guy to take the ice with his fingertips and that would have been sexy enough, but he met Tom halfway across the bar in an open-mouthed kiss to suck the ice cube from Tom’s lips.
A sweep of heated desire flew through Tom’s body and his cock hardened. His eyes closed instinctively and a low sound escaped him as his nose touched the man’s cheek just below the velvet mask. A light woody-citrus scent from the man’s after shave filled his head, and the man’s lips touched his sexily. Their masks rubbed together. A shiver went down Tom’s back. His ass clenched. He wanted this guy’s cock in his hands. If the guy asks to meet me, I’ll break my rules and agree. He drew away.

The guy gazed into Tom’s eyes as he crunched the ice.

Mesmerized by the scorching look, Tom waited, unable to tear himself away.

New Release from Elodie Parkes and Encompass Ink 4/21/16

Heart in Chains, Elodie Parkes, Encompass Ink, April 21, 2016 release
MM erotic romance/ suspense

I so enjoyed writing ‘Heart in Chains’. I’d just written, MM romance, ‘A Forever Kind of Thing’ for an Encompass Ink anthology to be released later this year and I was still in MM story writing mode.

Connor and Jay my heroes just gelled in my mind immediately as I considered the kind of adventure Connor might have on vacation in an exotic place such as Indonesia. Jay is a mysterious character, tough, driven, but on the verge of changing his dangerous life when he meets Connor. Connor is still getting over a relationship break up, but it’s been long enough and he’s tired of being single. His former boyfriend’s betrayal stays with him, but as soon as he sees Jay, attraction is seeded in his heart.

These two characters are dear to me. Tenderness lies beneath Jay’s composed and tough exterior and courage lies beneath Connor’s sexual vulnerability. I think both will surprise you as you read their story.

When Connor Douglas takes a tropical island holiday, he hopes to leave heartbreak behind. Little does he know the extent of the danger and sexual temptation that awaits him.
Long after Jay Levesque has closed down his operations on the very same tropical island, the memory of Connor haunts him.
Warm nights and scorching sex has someone’s heart in chains.

Read a teaser:
Darkness was falling as Jay arrived back with another man. They carried a tray each and the other man carried a stool. The other man left, but Jay smiled at Connor as he waited by the bed. Jay flipped a switch on the wall by the door and lit the place. Light streamed downward from the little white coolie-hat shade.

“Come, let’s eat.” He indicated the chair and sat on the stool himself.

Connor dragged his chain as he went to the table. He sat and took the cover off the plate of food. It looked good and the fish was already cut up, which was great since there was no knife, only a fork by his plate. He didn’t expect to be hungry, but after tasting the food, he ate almost all of it before he put down his fork and gave a sigh.

Jay ate slowly. When Connor stopped eating so did he and he placed his fork on the tray.
“It’s good to see you eat. Kiku, the man who brought the food with me, is going to bring coffee. Tell me about yourself.”

Connor turned to face Jay. He felt better after eating. “I don’t get it. Why do you want to know? Why are you being kind?”

Jay frowned. “There’s no need not to be kind. Humor me. Tell me a little about yourself.”

Connor shrugged. “I’m a marine biologist. I’m on vacation. I needed something completely different in my life for a time. These islands seemed like a good idea, far away, warm, beautiful, and …” He stopped talking. What’s the point in this?

Jay pushed his dark hair back from his forehead and folded his arms. He smiled.
“Far away. From what, Connor? A love affair gone wrong I think.”

Connor looked down at the remains of his food in confusion. Did he really want to tell his captor about his heartbreak?
“Not that it’s anything to do with you, but yes … I guess.”

Before Connor could react or even know what was happening, Jay reached out a hand and slipped it around Connor’s head. He swooped on Connor’s mouth and kissed him.

The kiss was so unexpected and yet so delicious, Connor closed his eyes and let it happen. He drifted in the soft merge of Jay’s lips on his. The lingering pressure and the way Jay brought his other hand up to caress the back of Connor’s neck was addictive. Connor leaned into the embrace. His cock hardened. Tingles from the circle of Jay’s fingertips on his neck spread down his spine and made his ass feel melted. Thoughts left him. The only thing that mattered right then was the kiss, and he lifted his hands to hold Jay’s muscled shoulders and kiss him in return.

It was Jay who drew away from the kiss.

Connor leaned back in his chair then, shocked at his response.

ALEX'S SURPRISE & SAVING ALEX
M/M ROMANCE

ALEX'S SURPRISE

Alex wanted a night of hot passion with Gerome, but he gets more than he ever bargained for. His life will be changed forever in a world where he’ll be thrown in jail— or worse— for being pregnant.

Alex’s best friend, Sam, has been acting strange ever since he met Alex’s one-night stand, but now Alex needs help in order to hide, and Sam is his only hope.

Excerpt:

Alex zapped, annoyed, through the channels. He lounged on the couch, bored out of his mind. Sam, his best friend and roommate, had taken up the recliner, reading something. Maybe Alex should do that as well? Watching TV wasn’t going to keep him entertained, since nothing caught his interest, no movie, no documentary, nothing. He zapped on, but stopped at a news report showing a pregnant man. He sat up a bit straighter. What was up with that?

The man’s stomach was swollen, showing he was at least five or six months along. His hands were cuffed in front of his baby bump and tears were streaming down his face. The camera showed a courtroom full of people, slowly sweeping over the interested men and women watching the process.

Alex turned up the volume. What had the man done? And why was he pregnant? He’d heard it was possible, but he’d never encountered someone who’d actually experienced that.

The reporter’s voice came up. “Robert B. was tried for violation of the racial laws. Today’s sentencing was long awaited. No one had heard of pregnant men for years, and there had been uncertainty about the actual jurisdiction in such cases. B., who is, according to doctors, six months along, was sentenced to five years in jail. His child will be put in an orphanage until he is released. The fathering sire has no legal claim over the child. He will be able to visit his child, but he can’t get guardianship over him or her. The child and the carrier will be outcasts of society after that.

“B. broke down after hearing the judge’s decision. Even though it’s forbidden, he clearly hoped the old laws would be overturned. Instead, the judge confirmed that male breeding between the races is still forbidden and punishable. With that, back to the studio.”

The picture changed, now showing a woman in a suit, smiling at the camera. “Thanks to our reporter in Berlin for a summary of today’s events in court. Now to the weather...”

Alex turned down the volume, muting the forecast. He turned to Sam, who had apparently put down his book to watch the news as well. “Did you hear that? How can they judge someone because he got pregnant?”

“I have no idea? Maybe because it’s wrong? Are these children dangerous? I’ve never met one, or heard of one, for that matter, but I guess there’s a reason it’s forbidden. The whole pregnant man thing is so strange, no wonder it’s against the laws. Who knows what’ll come out of such breedings.”

Alex frowned. A new life was precious, not wrong. He couldn’t imagine a child being dangerous, even if it was mixed. Children born from interracial relationships were allowed, as long as one of the parents was female and the other male. Why this didn’t apply to children born from a same-sex relationship was beyond Alex. Even if it was unusual for a man to be pregnant, he shouldn’t be put in jail for something like that.

This was the first case in a long time, according to the reporter, but he’d not given a reason why the laws were upheld. “It’s still wrong to judge someone for getting pregnant.”

“I don’t know. Like I said, there must be a reason why it’s forbidden.” Sam picked up his book again, ending the conversation. Alex took a moment to study his friend’s features as he buried himself in yet another sci-fi book. He was quite handsome with his blond, unruly hair and his strong jaw. The gaze of the piercing blue eyes that never seemed to miss anything flew over the page, pulling Sam into yet another outlandish adventure.

Maybe Sam was right. There had to be a reason it was against the law. Alex was kind of sorry for the man who now faced five years in prison, but then, the man knew what he risked with getting pregnant in the first place.

Alex settled back and focused on the TV again. Sam was not in the mood to discuss the matter anymore, his mind clearly on the story he was reading. As if they’d need sci-fi to experience something unusual. Ever since paranormals had come out of hiding back in the 1980s, going to certain clubs could be more adventurous than anything an author could come up with.

Maybe he should go out today? Blowing off some steam wouldn’t hurt. He’d not gotten laid in quite a while, and a night in one of the mixed clubs sounded too good to resist. It was better than staring at a rerun of a movie.

Alex switched off the TV and stood. “I’m going out, do you want to come with me?”

“What do you have in mind?” Sam looked up from his book. “Dancing? I thought of going to the Downtown.”

“Na, go without me. I’m not in the mood for that crowd.”

“You sure? It’s been months since you’ve been out.” Alex wasn’t surprised, Sam wasn’t one to go out much, and he despised big crowds. The Downtown is a huge mixed club, catering to all kinds of paranormals and humans. Not that paranormals were forbidden anywhere, but they, as well as humans, preferred to stick with their own kind. One of the exceptions was a club like the one Alex was going to visit. A night of dancing, and maybe getting laid, sounded better with every second.

“I’m sure, yes. I think I’ll read for a couple of hours, then I’m off to bed. Have fun.” Sam smiled at Alex. “See you tomorrow.”

“Will do. Goodnight.” Alex grinned back. He fully intended to have fun. The last months had been stressful enough with starting uni and working to support himself; he deserved some time out.

SAVING ALEX

Not only is Alex pregnant, something punishable by jail time, but Gerome, the father of the baby, is a vampire prince. When strangers invade Alex’s home and kidnap him, he doesn’t know who is responsible, if he’ll ever see the man he loves again, or even get to see the child growing inside him.

Considering himself the father of his lover’s child, Sam has a hard time standing around and letting others plan Alex’s rescue. But when the Prince and his trackers find an important clue, the race to save his beloved is on. Now all he can do is cross his fingers that the scheme they’ve devised will work.

When Prince Gerome receives ransom demands, the instructions are clear: mate a complete stranger or he’ll never see Alex or the child he carries again. Will he be able to convince his newly intended to help, or will those seeking to dethrone his family win this evil game of blackmail?

Caution: Contains a kidnapping, unwanted matings, a scheming king, way too many people that follow their own plans and a highly pregnant Alex.

Excerpt:

Alex clumsily attempted to climb out of the shiny black car as his stomach, which was always getting in the way, made every move an exercise. Nothing was as easy as it had been a few months ago before he’d gained enough kilos to feel like a whale. He’d put on a lot of weight, which showed on his hips, his thighs and of course, his stomach. In short, he was huge. At only five foot eight, he’d had the look of hot twink down perfectly, since he’d always been on the slim side. But now, his stomach protruded greatly, and he was as far from sexy as possible. He also couldn’t leave the apartment to get a haircut, so his dark strands had grown longer, falling into his eyes constantly. His blue eyes had darkened in color with the pregnancy. They now resembled a nighttime sky instead of the bright daytime they used to resemble. This seemed to be one of the side effects of carrying a half vampire child.

Alex pushed himself off the seat. Gerome’s Jaguar complicated the whole getting-out-of-the-car business. The car was everything, but definitely not designed for heavily pregnant men or women. Stylishly low, sleek, and athletic, it made a great impression, but it was hell to get in or out of. His boyfriend, Sam, grasped his hand, pulling to help him stand upright.

Alex winced as he stretched his back completely. Movements like straightening hurt sometimes, thanks to his sciatica. This time, however, he managed it with just a little twinge, evading the stabbing pain in his leg as he came to a stand in front of Dr. Brown’s private hospital. It was a beautiful evening, still warm, and the birds sang in the bushes around the clinic. The light of a lamp bathed the parking lot that held only two other cars tonight, which wasn’t a surprise. Although after ten at night, Dr. Brown treated a lot of paranormals and pregnant men who couldn’t risk being seen in their condition.

Two weeks had passed since his last visit and today, he was due for another check-up. One more in two weeks and then, in pregnancy week thirty-eight, it would be C-section time. Alex didn’t know exactly how he’d make it through the next weeks. He was so done with the pregnancy. Everything hurt, and his stomach got in the way all the time.

The baby moved and Alex rubbed a hand over his stomach. He or she kicked against his hand, something the little one liked to do. He rubbed over the abused spot, then turned to Sam. “Thanks. Gerome really needs another car. I won’t be able to get out of it much longer.”

Alex grinned sweetly at the dark-haired vampire, who waited next to the car. He loved ribbing Gerome, even though the man usually ignored his little teasing. It wasn’t any different today. Instead, he studied the bushes and trees around the parking lot, apparently not listening. Just as well. One day, he’d get a rise out of the biological father of his child.

Alex grabbed Sam’s hand and intended to steal a quick kiss from him. Sam didn’t stop with just a peck, though, and drew Alex as close as possible. Their tongues met and teased each other, accompanied by a quiet moan. Alex grew hard in his loose fitting pants and snuggled even closer into the embrace. Since Sam stood a couple of inches taller than him, Alex fit perfectly against his body. He forgot about everything around him, only the perfect, hot body pressed against his own mattered. He wanted Sam so badly. They’d made love only the day before, but his body already hummed with lust. Maybe he could talk Sam into vanishing behind the greenery around the parking lot? A quick BJ should be doable.

Sam ran his hands down Alex’s back and cupped his ass. Yep, a BJ really didn’t sound bad at all.

“I hate to break you two love-birds up, but we really need to get inside. It’s too dangerous here.” Gerome’s voice forced them apart. Panting hard, Alex reluctantly broke the kiss. What the fuck was wrong with Gerome? Didn’t he see they needed a minute alone? Sam pulled back, though, releasing Alex, who licked his lips, chasing the last taste of his boyfriend.

Alex took another deep breath of the fresh air. He didn’t want to go inside, even if Gerome had stopped them from doing something naughty. He’d been cooped up for so long, and he wanted out. A walk through the night, or better yet, through the daylight and the sun, sounded so tempting. But no, he’d been confined to their apartment for four fucking months already. Being pregnant sucked. Big time. At least it did if you lived in a world where being male and pregnant was forbidden.

“Come on now. Inside.” Gerome’s voice carried a strong tone of impatience. He seemed to be nervous. It wasn’t the first doctor’s appointment, so why was he so tense? The parking lot was secluded and while two other cars sat there, nobody could see them. It wouldn’t hurt to give a few more minutes of relative freedom.

But the vampire prince sniffed the air, his stance speaking of the tension running through his body. Now the hairs on Alex’s neck stood up as well. “What is wrong?”

“I don’t know. I just thought I smelled something, but I can’t place it, and I lost the scent before I could get enough to identify it. Please, let’s just get inside.”

A cold shiver ran across Alex’s neck and over his back. Was something wrong, or was Gerome just overreacting?
